The Tisbury police chief said Monday that he will retire late this year, after three years on the job. In a letter to the select board, Mark Saloio said he will leave Nov. 5, at the end of his three-year contract.

Vaccination numbers inched up a little more over the weekend as a mobile vaccination bus began making rounds. The bus will be on the Island through Wednesday this week.

Sean Murphy, the well-known Island attorney and Edgartown town meeting moderator, died Friday night after battling cancer. His death was confirmed Saturday by town administrator James Hagerty.
