Oak Bluffs residents voted to approve over $1 million dollars in spending at a special town meeting Tuesday, allowing the town to cover a stolen grant and move forward with a solar farm over the capped landfill.

The girls soccer team was the lone Vineyard winner on Saturday, retaining possession of the Golden Anchor by a score of 2-0. The boys soccer game lost in a penalty shootout after regular time, 4-2, and field hockey lost 0-5.

A new report from the North Atlantic Right Whale Consortium this week estimated that the right whale population rose to about 372 whales at the beginning of 2023, up from a previous estimate of 356 whales. 

While several select board members voiced their appreciation that the post office was trying to respond to complaints, they were not convinced that adding outdoor lockers was a solution.
