Vineyard Skies column for Friday, Dec. 21, 2018

 

The first quarter moon appears tonight near the bright red planet Mars.

A thin crescent moon appears low in the southwestern sky tomorrow night.

If the weather will cooperate, we’ve got the best stargazing ahead before winter steps in.

 On Thanksgiving night we will have a full moon, the Bay Scallop Moon. The moon appears in the zodiacal constellation Taurus.

On Saturday night, the thin crescent moon appears close to the ringed planet Saturn.
