Vineyard Gardener
When I was growing up, Daylight Savings Time was six months of the year. I lived 500 miles west of the Vineyard…therefore it was very dark in the morning and light until nine or so at night.
Because I tend to believe the worst case scenario when I listen to the weather forecasters, I got in a tizzy on Saturday and Sunday. I scurried around and brought all the house plants into the greenhouse.
On Tuesday in my travels, everyone remarked on the beauty of the day. To a person, it was followed by “It’s not going to last” or “it’s the last nice day.” Family members high-tailed it to the beach.
We just completed yet another series of perfect days.
Monday’s Equinox began my favorite of the seasons. The nights are perfect for sleeping with the addition of a blanket.
While I selfishly long for a bit of rain, the late summer season here on the Vineyard has produced some fabulous weather. Folks are really happy everywhere.
