Oak Bluffs faces $600,000 override in town budget. Its assessment for the regional high school budget is nearly 30 per cent, the largest share of any town.
The Island's main port town will ask voters to exceed the state tax cap this year in order to pay for all the needs, including police, school and ambulance.
Under a proposed agreement, the high school would purchase net energy credits produced by Future Generation Wind of Buzzards Bay, saving at least 20 per cent on their NStar bill.
