A dragon created by art and technology teacher Paul Brisette and his art students at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School will fly high and terrorize a young prince as the centerpiece of the Magic Flute scenes in the OperaFest 2008 performance, Saturday, July 26, at 8 p.m. at Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs.
Habitat to Hold Auction
Habitat for Humanity will hold its sixth annual More Than Art auction and dinner on Friday, June 27, at 6 p.m. at the Harbor View Hotel, Edgartown. Rick Lee and Susan Klein will conduct a live auction. A silent auction also will be held. Individual tickets are $65. Tables for 10 also are available. Fire Department Benefit
An event to benefit the Tisbury Fire Department is set for Sunday, June 22, at 5 p.m. at Shirley’s Hardware on State Road in Vineyard Haven. The event will include a car show, pig roast and live music. More information is available by calling 508-696-4246.
Barry Nolan, a nationally known television and radio personality from the Boston area, will be the guest auctioneer at Sail Martha’s Vineyard’s popular Seafood Buffet and Auction, to be held this year on Sunday, July 6, at Tisbury Wharf.
Kathy and Paul Domitrivich of Lola’s Southern Seafood are hosting a summer solstice fundraiser for Penelope Dickens on Sunday, June 22. Penelope is in her third year of cancer treatments and needs help meeting her basic living costs.
