Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first ever Black woman to sit on the country’s highest court, was on the Vineyard over the weekend to discuss her work and new memoir.

Last Monday, the court announced it would not take up the appeal filed by the Responsible Offshore Development Alliance, keeping a previous ruling on the 62-turbine Vineyard Wind project intact.

The Responsible Offshore Development Alliance (RODA) and the Texas Public Policy Foundation have both filed petitions with the country’s highest court, arguing that the Department of Interior did not follow the law when approving the project. 

The U.S. Supreme Court will not hear a legal challenge of the Vineyard Wind project lodged by a group of Nantucket residents. 

This year's forum, titled The Rise and Fall of Affirmative Action, comes less than two months after the U.S. Supreme Court released decisions declaring the consideration of race in college admissions unconstitutional.
