The popular downtown Edgartown restaurant Rockfish has been sold to Island restaurateur Mike Santoro, as the Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven business owner expands into his third down-Island town.
Pubs that have remained closed for much of the winter prepared this week for a St. Patrick’s Day opening, wiping down bars, sweeping floors and arranging stools in their rightful places.
Edgartown firefighters extinguished a Saturday afternoon fire at Rockfish restaurant, the second downtown Edgartown restaurant fire in as many weekends. The restaurant at the corner of North water street and Mayhew Lane was closed for business Saturday but will reopen Sunday afternoon.
The tapas-style restaurant and bar opened two weeks ago at 11 North Water street with a changed interior but familiar owners. Siblings Nell, Will and Geoghan Coogan also own the Wharf Pub just around the corner.
The Coogan family, owners of the nearby Wharf Pub and Restaurant, plan to open a restaurant named Rockfish at 11 North Water street in downtown Edgartown.
