The streets of Oak Bluffs were filled with rainbow outfits and glitter-covered faces this weekend as hundreds of Vineyarders took part in the annual Pride Parade.
Pride is coming to the Island this weekend. The fourth annual pride parade begins at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 at the Oak Bluffs roundabout and will end at Ocean Park.
Pride Parade marchers traversed the route up Circuit avenue in style — on high heels, on horseback, on a bright-orange dune buggy outfitted with a glittering disco ball.
June is LGBTQ+ pride month, an annual series of events that continue to grow each year on the Island, with the pride parade as the annual centerpiece. This year’s parade takes place June 8, beginning at the Island Queen Dock.
Oak Bluffs turned rainbow Saturday afternoon as more than 25 regional and Island organizations showed up for the second annual Pride parade.
The parade was the largest of an entire of weekend of Pride-themed events, from a Friday kick-off party at The Ritz Café to a Sunday drag brunch at Oyster Bar 02557.
