The Island's new charter school has received 91 admission applications for its first semester this fall, officials said this week.

The Martha's Vineyard Public Charter School class of 2016 ended their high school careers Sunday under a tent on the school grounds. Class speakers thanked friends, family and the Vineyard community for their support. Astrid Tilton, Cassius Paquet-Huff, Christopher Cartier, Cyrus Kennedy, Gabrial Canham, Hannah Gonsalves and Zale Narkiewicz were the seven graduates and the 16th class to graduate from the Charter School.
