The Martha’s Vineyard Museum honored four people earlier this summer with its annual museum medal, which was first awarded in 2009.
Linsey Lee first moved full-time to Martha’s Vineyard in the early 1970s, foraging for wild foods, working odd jobs and listening to tall tales from Islanders she met.
Dani Monroe leads the Martha’s Vineyard CDO Summit next week, with a public session at 3 p.m. on August 12.
Showing scenes of Island life, the Hot Tin Roof murals by Margot Datz now hang at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum’s Doherty Hall; a dedication and reception is Thursday evening.
Stan Murphy at 100, on display through August 21 on the museum’s second floor, joins the earlier Thomas Hart Benton show as one of the museum’s triumphs.
Stan Murphy’s body of work tells the story of the Island, craggy faced, thick skinned and strong of heart.
