Vineyard students honored fallen soldiers on Friday with the annual March to the Sea tradition at harbors all over the Island.
On Friday, grammar school students from around the Island gathered at their respective harbors to honor the fallen during Memorial Day weekend by distributing flowers as part of annual March to the Sea tradition.
As per tradition, the Vineyard began its Memorial Day traditions on Friday led by the youngest members of the community, leaving their elementary schools to walk down to the various harbors and toss bouquets of flowers into the sea.
School children around the Island paid tribute Friday to the meaning of Memorial Day with March to the Sea traditions to remember those who gave the greatest sacrifice.
