The spirit of Thanksgiving arrived early at the Island Inn on Saturday, as Islanders turned out for a buffet meal to support Jamaican relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Melissa.
On Oct. 28, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a category 5 hurricane, bringing winds up to 185 miles per hour, one of the worst hurricanes to ever hit the country. Islanders have rallied, hosting fundraisers and gathering essential supplies.
From One Island To Another
On Saturday night, Islanders gathered at The Island Inn in Oak Bluffs to raise money for relief efforts in Jamaica and to celebrate Jamaican food and culture. Local chefs including Chef Deon, Jimmy Alvarado of TigerHawk provided a buffet dinner with music from DJ Dern.
