The Aquinnah selectmen continued charting a future course for the Gay Head Light, discussing a possible revision of the lightkeeper’s job description.
Aquinnah selectmen on Tuesday voted to reestablish a town parks and recreation commission — the first in several years — to help oversee the Gay Head Light and other key properties in town.
The selectmen on Tuesday strongly backed a proposed bylaw to ban the use of single-use plastic bags in town. The idea will be voted on at the annual town meeting.

Aquinnah selectmen took disciplinary action this week against a dog owner whose Labrador retriever bit a houseguest in the face.
Selectmen learned that a yellow Lab rescue dog, Mac, belonging to Ariana Feldman, bit Benjamin Higgins in the face on Jan. 6 in a social situation, resulting in 32 stitches. Mr. Higgins was visiting Ms. Feldman for dinner. This was the dog’s second biting incident.
