Chilmark has long recognized the importance of affordable housing to the well-being of the town.

Just under half a million dollars was awarded last week to the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah) through an annual grant for affordable housing.

In light of questions surrounding the recent lottery for affordable homesites at Nab’s Corner, the Chilmark housing committee has begun the process of revising the town’s homesite guidelines.
