Edgartown took another step toward possible ownership of the Yellow House, with the community preservation committee voting to recommend spending $1.5 million to buy the building.

Gov. Charlie Baker this month signed off on a rare piece of state legislation that promises to end the confusion over the way the town line between Aquinnah and Chilmark runs along Boathouse Road in Menemsha.

Edgartown voters may be asked to decide this spring to spend $3 million to buy the so-called Yellow House, a run-down property on Main street owned by the Hall family.
