This year is the third annual Juneteenth Jubilee celebration on the Vineyard, focused in Oak Bluffs, a historically popular Black destination. The day was recognized as a federal holiday in 2021, commemorating June 19, 1865, when Major General Gordon Granger announced the end of the Civil War and slavery in Galveston, Tex.
