Easter weekend began the week of April vacation in our public schools, and the sound of suitcases snapping shut could be heard across the Vineyard. Islanders who stayed behind this week won't have an entirely bad bargain, at least not if the weather cooperates. We know there will be chilly setbacks on this path into the advancing Island season. But this week is, for many Vineyard families, one last chance for leisure to be savored before the summer comes with its heightened pace and many events.
