Cicadas, crickets and katydids have begun their nocturnal chorus, a sound that says summer as much as the sound of pinkletinks says spring.

There is an old saying that the first frost comes six weeks after the cicada begins to sing. But it is far too early to think about that. For now, we can simply enjoy listening to the evening song of summer.
