The arrival of the new year last Friday on the first tick after midnight offered an opportunity to look ahead with hope of improving on times just past. We are not likely to look back on the old year with a yearning for more of the same. Our focus now turns to a new number in a long line of accounting: 2021, a fresh year that will attract a special embrace from the Vineyard struggling to move on, to recover its balance after such upheaval.
