The Living Local Harvest Festival lived up to its name, and then some, at the West Tisbury fairgrounds Saturday afternoon. From the food to the music to the farm animals, the festival celebrated all things Martha's Vineyard — and all things fall, as a trebuchet hurled pumpkins into the air at the entrance to the festivities.

Kids activities included pumpkin carving, face painting, flower wreath making and oxen rides.

And while there were plenty of local goods to enjoy, including booths from Chilmark Coffee Company, Offshore Ale, Kitchen Porch, Morning Glory Farm and Not Your Sugar Mamas (just to name a few), the festival also provided information about living more sustainably.

Booths on clean energy, local food production and conservation lined the inside of the Agricultural Hall, with various on and off-Island representatives on hand to answer questions. Educational panels and demonstrations were offered by Slow Food Martha's Vineyard, Wild Food Challenge, Cape Light Compact and Vineyard Nutrition.
