Travis Tuck, metal sculptor, died on Monday evening in the company of a band of close friends. Mr. Tuck, 59, of Vineyard Haven, was the Island's most celebrated artisan. He made weather vanes of copper and bronze, but saying that doesn't come close to describing the many facets of either his artistry or his personality.

Tisbury Leaders Threaten to Cut Wastewater Engineers on Costs

Tisbury selectmen, faced with an unexpected near doubling in fees from their wastewater engineers, this week bluntly threatened to drop the Earth Tech firm and seek another.

Tuesday night's vote on a special permit - three in favor and two against - fell one shy of the needed four-vote majority.

Football Team Rides Road to Super Bowl Through Nantucket

The 9-1 Martha's Vineyard football team will fly to Nantucket tomorrow to battle the 6-3 Whalers, aiming to secure an undefeated league record - and with it a spot in the state playoffs - even as they try to win a fourth consecutive Island Cup. Kickoff is 1 p.m. at Nantucket High School.
