By all accounts it was a great wedding — but not everyone was invited.
The Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce this week made substantial changes in how it communicates with members in the aftermath of hurt feelings following a visit to the Island by wedding magazine writers. The October tour featured a mock wedding at the Gay Head Cliffs.
Some chamber members reacted with anger at not having the opportunity to be included in the event. They vented privately at the annual meeting soon after and more publicly recently.

Early in 2007, a grant application went to the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) from the Oak Bluffs selectmen seeking monies to allow low and moderate-income homeowners on the Vineyard to address code, safety and health deficiencies in their residences. The funds for this moderate home rehabilitation program originate in Washington, D.C. at the Department of Housing and Community Development (HUD).
Years ago, Daniel Cuff was cast in the role of a tree in his sixth grade play. Now Mr. Cuff, as a high school junior, has blossomed with an accomplished performance as Clay-Boy Spencer, a role which bonds the vast cast of characters together in The Homecoming, in production at the Vineyard Playhouse through Dec. 22.
Mr. Cuff plays the dual role of narrator and eldest child of the family. Clay-Boy wistfully recalls that poignant, long ago Christmas Eve when he, yet a child, struggled to know and be known by his father.
