Charter school students will be able to participate in high school sports for the first time on the regional high school’s varsity swim team.
With wind and rain in the forecast for Wednesday’s national holiday, the Wednesday morning parade has been canceled. There will be an indoor ceremony at 10:45 a.m. at the VFW in Oak Bluffs.
A state police bomb squad late last week removed what appeared to be a bazooka round from the Edgartown transfer station. State police Sgt. Joseph Pimentel told the Gazette the bomb was inert and likely a leftover from World War II, when large areas of the Island were used for target practice.
