This community can agree on one thing: that the future will bring challenges. Success in facing those challenges will require an acknowledgment that we are, in fact, one Island.
This Saturday marks the first year in which Juneteenth will be celebrated as a state holiday.
Finally we seem to be seeing some light at the end of the Covid tunnel.
This is not the language we would expect to hear from the Island planning body charged with protecting our land and water and leading the Vineyard climate action efforts:
I am pleased to see the all-Island school committee is preparing to tackle the daunting and time-consuming task of evaluating the superintendent of schools, Dr. Matthew D’Andrea.
The overwhelming yes vote for the Tisbury School at Sunday’s meeting is only a first step in the right direction.
