Like the rest of our Island community, the Island Community Chorus, with over 100 members, was getting restless and frustrated. Weekly snowstorms forced the cancellation of our Monday night rehearsals.
The extraordinary beauty of this Island has always enchanted me. I call it one big Japanese garden. The Island is alive with a myriad of landscapes.
Now that the winter holiday decorations have come down, but while there’s still plenty of snow on the ground, it’s time to take stock and offer some somewhat tardy thank you’s.
I urge you to ensure that the criteria for seeking and selecting a new director for the commission prominently and centrally include issues of climate change.
Yesterday, while walking on the state beach in Edgartown, a bunch of four large heart-shaped mylar balloons came bouncing across the water and onto the beach in front of me.
On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6 and Feb. 7, the Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School and the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse theatre project staged four short plays, starring the fourth grade classes.
