Thanksgiving week is shaping up to be a busy one on the Vineyard, as visitors appear to be coming early and staying longer, advance booking data from the SSA shows.

Enrollment at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School has increased this year, while numbers at Island elementary schools have dropped slightly overall.

Vineyard Wind, the international consortium that plans to build the nation’s largest offshore wind farm 15 miles south of Martha’s Vineyard, has been hit with yet another delay.

The Island boards of health reported six new cases on the Vineyard Friday and one new case in the Island public schools. There are currently 68 active cases on the Island.

Martha’s Vineyard commissioners wrestled for nearly two hours with a new proposed energy policy at their meeting Thursday night as climate change and green policy issues continue to loom heavily over Island development.
