Short, Stunning Celluloid

Short on length but long on talent, the Oscar-nominated short films are usually gems of wonder. Trouble is, no one gets to see them. They don’t play in movie houses and the actual Oscar presentation for these films usually gets cut out of the Oscar telecast.

A resource for emergency response and safety personnel for over two decades, the DVD-based program Sodium Hydroxide & Potassium Hydroxide has been updated and rereleased by the Edgartown company Emergency Film Group.

Lucky, then, that the Capawock Theatre is hosting a special matinee screening on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 1 p.m.

The final Family, Film, Feast event of the season takes place Saturday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. at the Chilmark Community Center.

Those who attended the last go-around earlier this month are still rubbing our stomachs filled joyfully with Indian food care of Kitchen Porch and Slow Food. Those who were otherwise occupied would be well served to check out what they’ve been missing.
