The Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Fair will return for its 159th year this August, reviving a revered Island summer institution after cancellation last year, Agricultural Society trustees announced Tuesday.

Last week, Martha’s Vineyard graduated 10 newly-trained Portuguese language interpreters through a highly-intensive, 60-hour course focused specifically on medical interpreting.

Questions and compliments came from all directions at Monday night’s forum on the renewed effort to create a housing bank on Martha’s Vineyard, as organizers aired the long-term plan.

Eight Martha’s Vineyard nonprofits, including libraries, the Boys & Girls Club, the YMCA and Island Grown Initiative, are getting ready for a season of unprecedented challenges as the Island reopens and children return to camp and other summer activities.
