For 40 years, the Martha’s Vineyard Community Foundation has presented the Creative Living Award to an Islander whos fosters community growth and togetherness. On Thursday the recipient was Juli Vanderhoop.

Island singer-songwriter Michael Mason spent more than half a century writing his musical play Billy Baloo, which opened this weekend at the Martha's Vineyard Playhouse.

The third annual Indigenous Peoples Day celebration takes place at Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary on Monday, Oct. 9. The event is organized by Sassafras Earth Education in collaboration with Felix Neck.
