Vineyard Conservation Society (VCS) has announced expansion of its Tap Map water bottle refill station network to seven new locations.

Vineyard Conservation Society (VCS) has announced expansion of its Tap Map water bottle refill station network to seven new locations. These new refill stations can be found in Vineyard Haven at the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce, Chicken Alley Thrift Shop and the Vineyard Haven Public Library; in Oak Bluffs at Healey Square, Penn Field and Viera Park; and in Edgartown at Memorial Wharf.

The installations were made possible through collaborations between VCS with Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce, Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, Martha’s Vineyard Little League, Memorial Wharf Committee and the Vineyard Haven Public Library. The additions bring the total number of water bottle refill stations to 34, 29 of which were installed by Vineyard Conservation Society.

The Tap Map network is one of numerous efforts being made by VCS since 2014 to reduce the Island’s reliance on single-use plastics.

Any chance might be able to install one at the Chilmark General Store for us bikers to refill our water bottles when we take the bike ferry loop?

Bravo! This important community effort will make a huge impact on plastic proliferation. Changing our reliance on the convenience of plastic is so important.
From plastic water bottles to a plastic turf , we will need to shift our expectations to sustainable products .
