The freight ferry Katama went out for repairs in Woods Hole Saturday afternoon and later returned to service.

The problem was a failed cooling pump, Steamship Authority general manager Bob Davis said.

The Katama missed a few afternoon trips but all vehicles with reservations were able to be accommodated on other ferries, Mr. Davis said.

By late afternoon, the pump was repaired and the Katama was back in service.

I feel sorry for you folks on the Vineyard... as a former boat captain of ferries and cruise ships you should be outraged.... you clearly have to much politics getting in the way. Glad I’m off the Island. You need to have some political muscle get involved, your local selectman clearly don’t care.
Call the governors office call NTSB....

I love riding on the ferries a trip off island was a big treat as a child. But for years the SSA has had a MONOPOLY time to break it up we need those fast ferries we should demand them call your selectmen and selectwomen today.
