As a proud "unionite" (born of the tiny island of Union in the grenadines) it was wonderful to hear of your trip. As a NYer and a seasonal MV resident, I cherish the smallness of the vineyard as it in many ways reminds me of home. Islands make you know your neighbors a little better as people generally have no place to hide so they need to be pleasant to each other. This is what drew me to the island over a decade ago and inspired me to own my own home there. Union Island is too far to travel to regularly with any convenience, but at least on MV I get to enjoy some sand, pleasant weather and some good folks. I will have to stop in the library and chat about your experience!
