Trees Not Traffic

I am writing concerning the eight house development that will be built behind the beautiful yellow Civil War era house at the top of Spring street.

I am writing concerning the eight house development that will be built behind the beautiful yellow Civil War era house at the top of Spring street. I am against the development of that land. I feel it will not only ruin the character of the whole of the neighborhood, but of all the streets surrounding it. This project will most definitely make for worse traffic congestion. Not good, and especially not a good thing near an elementary school. I am in favor of keeping the area green as a public park for the people of Vineyard Haven. Keeping the one hundred to one hundred-fifty-year-old trees, and especially oak trees, intact is of the utmost importance.

You should get more informed. The town wants to increase the density here, over that of the developer, with a new town hall and affordable or senior citizen housing. If you want to keep it green, as you say, than find a buyer. It seems everyone wants their neighbor's land for their park. I never see anyone writing these letters ever donating their land for a park?
