Our New Web Address

The Vineyard Gazette has a new online address: vineyardgazette.com.

The change from mvgazette.com will not cause any disruption to visitors accustomed to using the old web address. All traffic to the Gazette website and to individual stories that have appeared on it will be seamlessly redirected to the new site, said Jane Seagrave, publisher of the Vineyard Gazette Media Group.

“For people looking for our historic brand online, vineyardgazette.com is just more intuitive. This move brings consistency to our print and online presence,” she said.

In addition to the name change, vineyardgazette.com has added a powerful new search function that enables readers and researchers to search the Gazette’s online archive of news and photographs back to 2002.

The Vineyard Gazette website, redesigned in 2012, is now updated multiple times a day, seven days a week, with news, features, photographs, events and videos. In the past year, the site had more than 880,000 unique visitors.

Tell us about your new search engine. I tried it using my mother's name, Rose Anthony, and got nothing in 10 pages of results. I tried just "Rose" and still nothing. Got articles with the word "rose" in it back to 2001 but did not see Mom's obit from 2007. So tell me about your new search engine? Thanks.

Thanks for pointing this out, Michael. We are investigating why the search engine does not seem to be indexing obituaries, and hope to have this resolved soon.

We've identified and corrected the glitch. The search engine should be working now.
