Overlooked and Unfair

Again, Gail Barmakian, a long-serving and devoted member of the Oak Bluffs selectmen, was overlooked to fill the seat as chairman. What is distressing, when she asked why, no reason was given.

Ms. Barmakian has consistently expressed astute and well thought out reasoning in voting for or against propositions presented for consideration. In a democratic society it is necessary and reasonable to support, respect and encourage tolerance for all points of view without acrimony, precluding the adage to “go along to get along” environment.

Come on, people, play fair.
