“I was a pest to a lot of people when I first came to the Vineyard in 1967,” confessed Mark Snider, owner and managing director of Mattakeset Properties in Katama since 1983, of the Winnetu Oceanside Resort at Katama since 2000 and now of the Nantucket Hotel and Resort that opened June 29 across Nantucket Sound.
“But, remember,” he added with a touch of pride, “that I was only 10 and there was so much I wanted to learn from people here who had history to share.”
Kelleher Real Estate announces five openings in a new referral program created to enable young adults over 18 to become referral agents for their business.
Any leads for either buyers or sellers that lead to a sale will result in a fee for the referral agents, according to a news release issued by Kelleher.
Referral agents do not handle any aspect of a sales transaction other than providing the principal with a name of someone that has asked to be contacted.

A second senior executive has resigned at the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank. Robert G. Ripley Jr., an executive vice president who headed the Martha’s Vineyard Financial Group, the bank’s wealth management division, has left the bank effective today.
Mr. Ripley confirmed yesterday that he was no longer working at the bank, but had no further comment.
His resignation follows the abrupt resignation of president and chief executive officer Christopher Wells in late May.
