When the Neighborhood Convention meets this month the Minnesingers will present a holiday program preview. The convention will meet at 11 a.m. on Dec. 3 at Trinity United Methodist Church at the Camp Ground in Oak Bluffs.
While teaching piano, young Ernie Dewing’s grandmother made him a deal: one classical sonatina for every Rolling Stones song. “I bought one of the first synthesizers ever made back in 1972,” Mr. Dewing said, sitting down at a keyboard in his recording studio on Chappaquiddick.
Om is not just for grown-ups. Beginning on Thursday, Dec. 5, Oak Bluffs library will host Little Yogis, a weekly yoga instruction program for ages four to six.
Celebrating fall is a tradition at Felix Neck and it comes with hayrides, face painting, live music by the Flying Elbows, food, wreath-making, crafts and even a look at the baby barn owls through the ingenious owl cam.
Tea and books go together like . . . well, tea and books. The Federated Church of Edgartown hosts its annual book talk on Monday, Nov. 25, at 4 p.m. Susan Mercier of Edgartown Books is the guest speaker.
The gym at the Tisbury School will transform into Agrabah this weekend as seventh and eighth grade students present Aladdin Jr. on Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23.
