Music on Martha’s Vineyard, a History of Harmony takes readers on a musical history tour of the Island. Although Carly Simon and James Taylor may be the biggest names from these parts, the book does not simply linger among the rarefied.

Adult and Community Education of MV (ACE MV) will be collaborating with the Yoga Barn in West Tisbury once again to offer a nine-weekend intensive and comprehensive 200-hour Yoga Alliance teacher training starting Friday, Oct. 17 and finishing May 17, 2015.

The Vineyard Haven library has announced that its Sunday hours and programs resume on Oct. 19. The library will be open from noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays throughout the winter, except for a few holiday weekends.

Dozens of chefs, home cooks, hunters and fishermen hiked, drove and dropped lines all over the Island to forage ingredients for the fifth annual Local Wild Food Challenge held Monday. The winning dish included fish, oysters, watercress and pea shoots.
