It is a big week for words on the Vineyard. One could say that all summer long, but this week two Vineyard authors take the stage.
Special homes are on the 2015 Cottagers House Tour which will be held Thursday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Oak Bluffs. The personalities behind these varied and captivating properties are just inviting as the homes themselves.
Gail Rodney will be hosting a reception for her new book, A Martha’s Vineyard & Chappy Sketchbook, at the Old Sculpin Gallery from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 12.
Barbara Kopple’s latest film, an account of the long history of The Nation Magazine,w ill be shown on July 15. Ms. Kopple will be in attendance to answer questions.
On a lucky-for-me Saturday in New York city in 1988 I scored twice at the Times Square same-day, cheap ticket booth — single (back row) tickets to two big hits: Sondheim’s Into the Woods (Bernadette Peters) and Lee Blessing’s A Walk in the Woods (Sam Waterston and Robert Prosky).
On Sunday, July 12, piano man David Crohan will perform his annual summer concert at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown.
