The West Tisbury historic district commission has joined town selectmen and many others in raising concerns about plans by the Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival to relocate.

With the Gay Head Light having completed its historic move last year, and long-term planning underway for Aquinnah Circle, shop owners have a new vision for their town’s commercial and cultural district.

The town of Aquinnah has been named a finalist for a highly selective arts funding program that could further bolster the new Aquinnah Circle Cultural District.

The annual Best of the Vineyard winners were announced Thursday night during a packed event at the Loft in Oak Bluffs. More than 5,500 votes were cast in this year’s contest.

Historic Movies of Martha’s Vineyard will present a selection of film clips, some dating to the 1920s, next Wednesday at the MV Film Center.
