Island families, music lovers and theatre buffs flocked to the Performing Arts Center over the weekend for the regional high school’s production of Les Misérables.

Blood Pudding by Ivan Cox is framed as a long-lost memoir of its narrator, Tadeusz Malinowski.

A sense of renewal was in the air and on the program as the Island Community Chorus took the stage at the Old Whaling Church this weekend.

A 16-piece orchestra will back up a cast featuring scores of Islanders in the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School production of Les Misérables, opening March 31.

Singers Emmett Favreau and Jack Crawford have shared the stage since grammar school. Recently, they both performed with the all-state chorus at Symphony Hall.
