Walk to Cure Cancer

This Saturday, May 7, everyone can pitch in to help cure cancer simply by putting one foot in front of the other in the annual MV goes Pink walk.

Beginning at Lola’s on Beach Road and looping around to the Edgartown Lighthouse and back, the walk is a chance to help raise money for the Island’s Cancer Support Group as well as show support for Islanders living with cancer.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., walk at 10 a.m. For details, call 508-560-0484.

Remembrance Luncheon

Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard is holding a remembrance luncheon at the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown on Sunday, May 22. All attendees are invited to bring a picture of a loved one to be displayed during the meal.

Miles of Memories

The Martha’s Vineyard Miles of Memories Walk for Alzheimer’s will be on Sunday, May 15, rain or shine. Registration begins at 11 a.m. at Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs. The two-and-a-half-mile walk begins at noon.

Writers’ Group Unveiled

On Sunday evenings for the last several years a group of writers has been gathering at the Cleaveland House in West Tisbury, the home of mystery writer Cynthia Riggs. The writers meet to share their work and help critique and inspire each other while traveling down that very solitary road of the creative process.
