Oak Bluffs celebrates its annual tree lighting in Healey Square on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m.

The tree lighting is the main event but the town will be displaying its holiday spirit all day long. Shops on Circuit avenue open at 10 a.m. and Santa arrives at noon at the Strand Theatre.

The evening tree lighting includes carols and hot cocoa, with another visit by Santa.

The holiday season continues next week as advent begins. The First Congregational Church of West Tisbury will be hosting Wednesday advent services beginning Dec. 3 and continuing each Wednesday throughout the month. The first one is entitled Longing and Preparing. It begins at 5:30 p.m.

The church holds its Christmas Faire on Dec. 13, with wreaths and gifts for sale, and will present its annual pageant at the Agricultural Hall on Christmas Eve.
