The Aquinnah Cultural Center offered an impressive program at Stillpoint last week. The well-organized exercise incorporated the loss of Wampanoag land since colonization. And a panel discussion described the impact of King Philip’s War, which drastically impacted the lives of the Wampanoag on the Cape and Islands.
It was educational, informative and well-worth the time that some 75 people spent learning the history and experiences of the Gay Head and Mashpee Wampanoag.
We trust this program will be repeated so more of us can appreciate the challenges our neighbors endured.
