The ringed-planet Saturn is making its way into our late evening sky. The planet is in the zodiacal constellation Pisces. It rises in the east around 10 p.m. You can see the planet low in the southeastern sky. Pisces does not have any bright stars so Saturn will stand by itself, a beacon in the southeast.

Saturn will be more dominant as we get later into the year. The planet is not as bright as usual. It's belts are almost edge on. If you took a telescope and pointed at the planet, the rings are there. It takes some effort. The planet is 816 million miles from us. It is the most distant readily visible planet.

The planets Venus and Jupiter are morning planets, still close together. Earlier this week, the two planets were less than a degree apart. They have since separated. The two are in the zodiacal constellation Gemini.
