We have so many adoptions to report this week.
We have so many adoptions to report this week. Both Cleo, a young, tabby and white male, and Peaches, a white and black girl, have gone on to their forever homes. And kittens, Buddy and Bailey, have found their forever homes as well. Congratulations to all these cats and their new families.
Our pet of the week is Martin, a 15-year-old tabby gentleman whose age you would never guess. He’s still playful and a really nice boy, but is shy if he doesn’t know you. Yet once he does, he’s an affectionate boy. He does have a thyroid issue and needs to be on medication so if you have it in your heart to adopt this wonderful cat his adoption fee will be waived.
We have three, 16 weeks old Manx kittens — two boys and a girl. The girl and one of the boys are tuxedos, and the other male is a Siamese mix. These three are shy, but definitely handleable. Come meet them and see if any of them could be your new best friend.
The next nail clinic is August 9 from 10 a.m. until noon. Dogs must be leashed and cats, rabbits and Guinea pigs must be in carriers. Walk-ins only, $20 fee.
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours: 508-627-8662.
Hours are: Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 to 5 p.m.
