There will be a women’s reproductive rights rally at Five Corners on Saturday from 11 a.m until noon. And do not forget the second No Kings demonstration on Friday, July 4 at Five Corners.

The Democracy Forward fundraiser yard sale is this Saturday and Sunday at 140 North William street in Vineyard Haven. Cash or checks only, please.

Also on Saturday is the Amity Sand Castle Competition at Jaws Bridge from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This annual event is hosted by the Friends of Sengekontacket. Register online.

There are new deadlines for our Agricultural Fair entries in August. Check on line or go up to the Agricultural Hall and get your paper forms.

Island grown artist, Sarah Nelson, is the artist-in-residence at Slough Cove Farm this summer. Her focus this season is on Island oysters. This woman’s output is prolific and spot on. There will be exhibits.

I am looking forward to a week’s visit from my dear friend, Linda Tydings Massaro, arriving today. Linda grew up here but now lives in Florida. I do hope she is not expecting cooler weather when she gets here.

The birthday bandwagon pulled along Sammy Jo Ben David on June 18; June 19 was shared by Caitlyn Parkhurst and Peggy Jackson; and Jack O’Callaghan took the cake on January 25. Many happy returns.
