A woman was found dead outside her Munroe avenue home Saturday. State police wrote in a statement they believe the woman had been outside in the extreme cold for an unknown period of time, possibly overnight.
Officials are investigating the death of a 92-year-old woman in Oak Bluffs after her body was found outside her home on Munroe avenue Saturday.
The woman, who was not identified by police, was found on a walkway leading to the home’s front door by a family member who lived nearby and had been unable to reach her, state police wrote in a statement. Police were alerted to the incident at about 2 p.m. Saturday and they believe the woman had been outside in the extreme cold for an unknown period of time, possibly overnight.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct a post-mortem examination on the woman.
Oak Bluffs fire Deputy Chief Stephen Foster declined to comment on the death, referring questions to state police.
