The executive director at Martha's Vineyard Center for Living has received the 2021 Changemaker Award from the Institute for Nonprofit Practice.

Leslie Clapp, executive director at Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living in Vineyard Haven, has received the 2021 Changemaker Award from the Institute for Nonprofit Practice.

The award is made to individuals demonstrating remarkable service, courage and generosity to their neighbors and communities amidst the adversity of the last two years, a press release said. Ms. Clapp is being recognized for outstanding community outreach and staff stabilization efforts during a time when the Covid pandemic prompted most councils on aging and supportive day programs to temporarily close.

Ms. Clapp has worked as the Center for Living’s executive director since 1997. Previously, she served as assistant director and then director at the Edgartown Council on Aging.

More information about the center for living can be found at mvcenter4living.org.

Congratulations to Leslie. I had the privilege of meeting her and was a recipient of her help. Couldn't have made it through without her.
